Tonight I have my next assignment for edgechicago.com: “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.”

I love this show, having seen the original Broadway cast four years ago (for some inexplicable reason, I never blogged about it?), and then caught the James Lapine-directed production at Drury Lane Water Tower a year later (read that review here.)

What makes the show so endearing to me is how fun, funny and innocent it all seems, and then — WHAM, it gets your heart.
