Playbill.com reports that Million Dollar Quartet will arrive on Broadway in a yet-to-be-named theatre in Spring 2010.
When I caught the show in July, I really enjoyed it (my review is here). It was simply good entertainment. No fancy sets or costumes or expensive production numbers here. Instead, it offered old-school flash, derived from excellent musicianship, toe-tapping songs and solid acting.
Let’s hope NYC audiences will be willing to pay Broadway ticket prices for such a show. At Chicago’s Apollo theatre, tickets can be easily found under $30.
