I love nothing more than a grand, flashy finale. As Mama Rose said, “Give ’em a good, strong finish, and they’ll forgive you for anything.”
A Susan Stroman finale (inspired by Busby Berkeley, Ginger and Fred. Such class! Such style!):
Queens!
Crazy diva antics — this one courtesy of Helen Schneider. (For the English translation, talk to Batty Buckles.)
Of the three above, I feel the final clip best represents how I’ll end my Friday: CRAZYPANTS! However, I’m sure a flowy feathered gown would brighten my mood. Not so sure about the spinning and kicking on a small, raised platform, however. My balance and coordination have never been anything to write home about.
I don’t go to the Theater much, but last spring I played in the pit for the Bernstein’s Trouble in Tahiti at the Cutler Majestic in Boston.
I liked that finale for reasons probably different than the audience (almost over almost over)! It was a great time though.
love the blog!
(the first clip is my favorite)
cheers,
John
I’ve always wanted to play in a pit band. And Berstein! Glorious. Thanks for commenting, John.
