A friend and fellow Chicago theatre diva lover reported to me that Hollis Resnik is set to star as Margaret in Arena Stage’s The Light in the Piazza in March.
(Nothing’s been officially announced on this, I believe, so it’s still rumor. A scoop!)
I adore Ms. Resnik, and think she’ll be grand. However: I wonder if she’ll be able to amp up the warm and loving, as she’s mostly played cold, calculating and/or crazy in shows I’ve seen her in. But Adam Guettel’s score will sound glorious in her voice, no doubt.
So…road trip?

Gosh, I’d love to see Hollis in this role, too.
Right? Moreso just to see if she has it in her. Warm and inviting don’t seem to be her forte.
