Attended the opening night of Billy Elliot the Musical. (i.e., where I sat in the same room with Elton John, Jesse Jackson and Oprah Winfrey for three hours):

I once heard Jesse Jackson speak and he’s very inspiring. But who knew he was a musical theatre fan?! And wow, just to be in the presence of Oprah. I think she’s great. Plus I know someone who had to drive her around the Indiana State Fair for a day before she became incredibly famous and he said she was really nice.
So glad everything went well with the bridal shower! You’ve really got the male of honor thing down.

I get the impression Jesse Jackson was there because it was a good publicity moment. I don’t think he has a showtunes playlist on his ipod, if you know what I’m sayin’.
