Tonight, it’s off to Porchlight Music Theatre’s Sunday in the Park with George.

As it’s Stephen Sondheim, I’m naturally looking forward to it. This will be my fourth time going into the park with George. First was a production at Pegasus Players (where I met Danielle Ferland of the original Broadway cast of Sunday), followed by the Ravinia concert starring Audra McDonald, Michael Cerveris and Patti LuPone, and then a satisfyingly small production at Village Players (which starred up-and-comer Stephanie Herman as Dot).

Excited to see what Porchlight has in store. They always discover innovative ways to stage Sondheim musicals. And if there’s any show that benefits from an innovative staging, it’s this one.
