I dare you to find a more “awww”-inducing moment on any Chicago stage currently then when beloved Chicago actor Mike Nussbaum as guardian-angel-in-training Clarence — all short and white-bearded and bespeckled – impishly looks up at Joseph (Philip Earl Johnson) and asks, “When do I get my wings?”

It’s moments like this that make this staged “radio play” version of Frank Capra’s It’s a Wonderful Life a worthwhile treat for the family, and explains why American Theater Company’s production is now enjoying its 10th annual performance.

  1. Hi Andrew! This is my dentist’s sons play that he is putting on this week. His mom tells me that he’s in charge of reading all the new plays that come in to the theatre and they are looking for new plays constantly. See if they’ll be interested in your work. Good Luck!!!
